Dr. Alexandria Nicholson

Dr. Alexandra Nicholson, is a board-certified neurologist with specialization in movement disorders. She has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions, with additional expertise in movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia, hemifacial spasm, restless legs syndrome, Huntington’s disease, Tourette’s syndrome and more. She also has specialized training in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) programming, and assesses patients for candidacy of the surgery and creates customized programming for her patients with DBS. She is additionally skilled in neurotoxin injection (such as Botox, Xeomin, etc.) for a variety of neurological conditions including spasticity, dystonia, hemifacial spasm, sialorrhea and more.

She provides comprehensive neurological care for all types of neurologic illnesses, including but not limited to: MS, headache and migraine, myasthenia gravis, neuropathy, stroke, and others.

She received her medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. She completed her residency in Neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona and completed her Clinical and DBS Movement Disorder Fellowship at the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. 

She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the Movement Disorders Society. 

She offers a comprehensive approach to the treatment of neurological disorders. She works closely with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that address their specific needs. She also offers support and education to patients and their families. 

Originally from Benicia, Dr. Nicholson is honored to be able to serve members of her community. She loves spending time with her family, gardening, traveling, and exploring the beautiful hiking trails in California.
