About Dr. Nicholson
Dr. Nicholson has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions, with additional expertise in movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and Parkinson-plus syndromes, essential tremor, dystonia, hemifacial spasm, restless legs syndrome, tic disorders, Tourette’s syndrome and Huntington’s disease.
She has specialized training in deep brain stimulation (DBS) programming: she assesses patients for candidacy for the surgery and creates customized programming for patients with DBS. She is also skilled in neurotoxin injections for neurological conditions such as spasticity, dystonia, hemifacial spasm and sialorrhea. Her procedures also include trigger point injections and nerve blocks.
Beyond movement disorders, she provides comprehensive neurological care, including headache and migraine, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, neuropathy and stroke. She works closely with patients to build individualized treatment plans, and offers support and education to patients and their families.
Originally from Benicia, Dr. Nicholson is honored to serve members of her community. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, traveling and hiking California’s trails.
